A tax exemption on aircraft repairs and services could be coming your way this summer. The Mississippi legislature has passed a measure that would amend the state's code to exempt the repairing and servicing of all aircraft. The bill is now awaiting Gov. Haley Barbour's signature. "This measure will help make GA more affordable for our more than 2,500 members in the state," said Owen Sweeney, AOPA manager of state and local government affairs. "AOPA is pleased that the legislature has taken steps to become more competitive with other states that have favorable tax policies for GA." If the governor signs the bill, it will go into effect July 1.
