City council continues to debate fate of Blaine

AOPA members have told the Blaine City Council exactly how they feel about the airport: Keep Blaine Municipal Airport open. AOPA Northwestern Regional Representative Mike Ferguson, Blaine Airport Support Network volunteer Clarence Ranck, AOPA members, and local pilots showed their support for the airport last week at city council meetings. The council is scheduled to vote on October 9. Mayor Richard Myers has expressed his support for the airport to AOPA. A local developer is pushing to close the airport in order to develop a truck stop, tavern, and motel.
