Boyer, Sen. Rockefeller talk FAA funding

At this critical point in the FAA funding debate, while the Senate is drafting its own version of the FAA's bill that calls for user fees and a huge avgas tax hike, AOPA President Phil Boyer met with Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.). As chairman of the Senate aviation subcommittee, Rockefeller will play a key role in creating the new bill. "This was a great opportunity to discuss with him the need for passing an FAA bill without hurting general aviation," Boyer said after the meeting this week. "While we know the status quo will change, the FAA's proposal is unacceptable."
