The airline industry hired more than 1,360 pilots during September 2007, making it the largest hiring month since September 2001, according to Atlanta-based AIR, Inc. The third quarter of this year saw 3,619 pilots hired, almost double the 1,918 landing jobs in the third quarter of 2006.
