AOPA President Phil Boyer recently welcomed golf legend and passionate pilot Arnold Palmer to the pinnacle of aviation philanthropy.

Palmer has become a charter member of the AOPA President's Council, joining the elite ranks of AOPA Air Safety Foundation pilot-philanthropists who provide generous donations in support of a safe future for general aviation.

Under the chairmanship of noted retailer John N. Nordstrom, the AOPA President's Council is currently seeking the final 15 of its 100 charter members, each of whom commits to a tax-deductible donation of $50,000 or greater, payable over five years.

Boyer met with Palmer at his office, a short drive from the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pa.
