AOPA looks out for members during state reg update

The state of Alaska is in the process of updating its Title 17 regulations, which affect its 258 state-owned airports. AOPA wants to make sure that any changes are fair to members. In a letter to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, AOPA is calling for simplified regulations that do not deter airport development. And AOPA thinks rents and fees should be applied in a uniform manner so that new tenants aren't penalized, striking a balance between generating revenue and encouraging business. AOPA also commented on fire codes and security programs.
