Hertz 'Local Edition,' FBO basing expands options for pilots, available at a discount to AOPA members

Hertz has expanded the availability of its rental cars at and near airports by serving more FBO locations, launching a new exclusive relationship with Signature Flight Support and offering its new "Local Edition" service.

Hertz, a longtime partner in AOPA's Rental Car Discount Program for pilots and aircraft owners, is expanding its presence at general aviation facilities throughout the country.

The company is now the exclusive rental car provider at all 44 Signature Flight Support locations in the United States, plus Signature facilities in Paris and Zurich. A new three-year agreement provides dedicated rental cars at all Signature locations plus Web site reservation access. Most Signature locations will have on-site reservation equipment.

Hertz offers rental cars at nearly 90 other FBO locations from Addison, Texas (Addison Express), to Wilmington, Delaware (Atlantic Aviation). Hertz serves three FBOs at Teterboro, six at Atlanta-area airports, and four each around Chicago and Dallas.

Including the Signature locations, Hertz cars are now at some 130 FBOs nationwide. In Florida alone, Hertz has recently opened new FBO locations in Boca Raton, Fort Myers, Jacksonville (Craig), Stuart, Venice, and West Palm Beach.

Where Hertz cars are not at the FBO, pilots should investigate renting from the growing network of Hertz suburban locations, many of which offer free pick-up. Originated to compete in local use/insurance replacement rentals, Hertz' suburban service is available at more than 580 locations in 33 states including approximately 200 locations in the West.
