Notam issued for June 3 AOPA Fly-In

The Federal Aviation Administration has released its notice to airmen (notam) for the tenth annual Fly-In to AOPA headquarters at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK), Maryland, on Saturday, June 3.

The notam includes special VFR arrival procedures and information on the temporary FDK control tower that will be operating from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 3. Reduced runway separation and simultaneous arrivals to intersecting runways will be in effect at FDK.

Pilots are cautioned to avoid P-40 (the prohibited area over Camp David), which is 15 nautical miles north of FDK. Pilots can do so by remaining south and east of U.S. 15 and by using extra care approaching Frederick from Hagerstown, Maryland, and southern Pennsylvania.

Arrival/departure instructions and a map are available on AOPA Online.

The 360,000-member Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is the world's largest civil aviation organization. More than one half of the nation's pilots are AOPA members.
