Water tank would pose hazard to IFR traffic at Millville

AOPA is opposing plans to build a 213-foot-msl water tank just 3,000 feet from New Jersey’s Millville Airport. In a Jan. 29 letter to the FAA, AOPA points out that the proposed tank would increase the minimum descent altitude (MDA) for the GPS approach to Runway 32 by 100 feet. It would also increase Category A circling minimums by as much as 80 feet for other approaches. AOPA is asking the developer to relocate the water tank and the FAA to issue a finding that the tank is a hazard to aerial navigation.
