The airlines hired 759 pilots in April, according to Atlanta-based AIR, Inc. National airlines hired 307 crewmembers, while the major carriers added 222 pilots, even though several recently suspended hiring. The number of pilots on furlough dropped slightly from 2,144 pilots in March to 2,111 in April.
