The Cannibal Queen on the big screen

The gorgeous 1942 Boeing Stearman that shared an adventurous summer with aviation novelist Stephen Coonts—inspiring his book about that journey, The Cannibal Queen—will be the subject of a movie called The Stearman Spirit, another Doug DeVries film in the works (see “ The Great Circle Air Safari,” September 2007, AOPA Pilot). While the Stearman film is still in production DeVries and his partner Mark Schoening recently completed the Great Arctic Air Adventure in two de Havilland Beavers on floats.
