Fuller talks with aviation media

Craig Fuller at Sun n Fun 2009 Ben Sclair of GA News talks with Craig Fuller at Sun ’n Fun on Wednesday.

Instead of the formal press conferences preferred by many aviation businesses at Sun ’n Fun, AOPA President Craig Fuller opted for an informal discussion with the media on April 22. He answered questions and shared his thoughts with a small group of aviation media representatives.

“I’ve been so pleased with the response to our GA Serves America campaign. There are people over there telling their stories,” Fuller said, gesturing toward the GA Serves America tent where pilots and others were being interviewed on video about how important general aviation is to them and their businesses. “It’s important that we get the word out.”

The campaign truly is critical to GA’s future, he explained. “The research has shown us that people who recognize the value of general aviation believe that if [general aviation] goes down, we won’t be able to build it back up.”
