Swiss manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. reported record PC-12 sales in 2008. The company said that 97 PC-12s were delivered, and a total of 114 Pilatus aircraft of all types were delivered.

Order volume worth 988 million Swiss Francs ($852 million USD) were posted, although operating profit, at 55 million Swiss Francs ($47 million USD), was lower than 2007’s 59 million Swiss Francs. This was blamed principally on the weak U.S. dollar.

As for 2009, Pilatus said that the global financial and economic crisis grows more threatening by the day. Still, the company said that market opportunities for Pilatus remain satisfactory.

“Our products are technologically excellent, our prices are competitive, and our service is second to none,” a statement said.
