AOPA Services

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is general aviation's advocate and the largest, most influential aviation association in the world. Its membership of more than 414,000 comprises nearly two-thirds of all pilots in the United States. Visit and bookmark our Web site designed especially to serve the information needs of student pilots. All AOPA Flight Training members, including those with free six-month introductory memberships, have full access to AOPA's resources, including the members-only areas of AOPA Flight Training Online and AOPA Online.

Two types of news

Do you subscribe to AOPA ePilot Flight Training Edition, the free weekly electronic newsletter created especially for student pilots? Some 98,000 of your peers do, and they'll tell you that nowhere else will you find a weekly newsletter that contains a feature article about a common flight-training issue, question, or problem. Each "Training Tip" includes links to additional resources at AOPA Online and AOPA Flight Training Online. We also send you timely news items pertaining to the flight training community; a section devoted to AOPA advocacy; and "Training Products," short announcements of the latest pilot instructional tools and gadgets on the market.

Now, you have another source for the latest aviation news. In February we rolled out Aviation eBrief, a daily collection of 10 articles compiled from aviation and general news sources around the country. The general-aviation-focused articles are intended to give you a daily snapshot of what's going on in the industry, at airports, and on Capitol Hill.

What's the difference, you may ask?

Aviation eBrief reports the straight news as pulled from newspapers, magazines, and Web sites nationwide. The ePilot Flight Training Edition will continue to provide a focused, student-centric publication that keeps training first and foremost.

As an AOPA Flight Training member, you can receive both the newsletter and Aviation eBrief at no cost. To receive the AOPA ePilot Flight Training Edition, go online; scroll to the bottom of the application page, and check the box under "Additional Newsletter." You also can sign up for Aviation eBrief online.
