AOPA believes the health of general aviation depends on the health of our members. Pilots are a hearty breed, but even the heartiest among us can sometimes be grounded for medical issues. That’s why AOPA has created the AOPA Medical Services Program. This new effort has been designed to help pilots stay healthy, keep their medical certificates, and extend their flying years.
The AOPA Medical Services Program has two levels, Essential and Comprehensive. The Essential level gives you support from AOPA’s Medical Certification Specialists to track your airman medical application through the FAA; access to WorldDoc, an online health management and information system; access to HealthVault, a secure online medical records storage service; a bi-monthly, pilot-focused medical newsletter from AOPA’s Medical Certification staff; and a free prescription drug discount program.
The Comprehensive level offers all of the benefits of the Essential Program plus a medical records review by the AOPA Medical Certification staff, and if necessary, AOPA intervention on your behalf with the FAA Aerospace Medical Certification Division. AOPA’s Essential Medical Services Program costs just $37, while the Comprehensive Program is offered for $99. Other aeromedical certification services can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars more.
