Teledyne Continental Motors has reduced by as much as 10 percent its list pricing on all aftermarket new and factory-rebuilt engines.
“What we hope to accomplish with Genuine Continental Pricing is twofold,” said Rhett Ross, president of Continental Motors. “First we are standardizing what consumers pay for Continental engines no matter where they are purchased. Second, we are promoting the fact that installing a new or rebuilt engine at TBO [time between overhaul] is a cost and quality effective alternative to an engine overhaul.”
A press release issued late Jan. 15 said there are several benefits to customers that result from purchasing a new or rebuilt engine, versus overhauling an engine. The company’s list includes: a zero-time logbook, airworthiness directive and service bulletin compliance, factory specification tolerances, a two-week turn-around time, and a guaranteed price.
Overhaul prices start at a fixed fee, the company said, but can escalate after disassembly if problems are found.
