NavMonster.com, a Web-based preflight planning tool, announced it has added numerous features to its service. Graphic temporary flight restrictions, area forecasts, and links to live air traffic control communications provided by liveATC.net are now offered as part of the free tool.
The NavMonster interface was designed for easy navigation, and the new features fit seamlessly into that structure. Graphic TFRs are automatically overlaid on the Google Maps flight planning page, the appropriate and area forecasts are standard as part of the automatically generated weather briefing. The same goes for the ability to listen to live ATC, which is shown automatically as a hyperlink below the airport name if ATC is available.
NavMonster, which also offers fuel prices, dining options, sectional charts, and approach plates, does not require users to log in.
