Hiller Aviation’s Vertical Challenge, the nation’s largest all-helicopter airshow, will take place Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, Calif. The event is dedicated to educating the public on how helicopters affect our daily lives, from traffic and news reports to their unique lifesaving capabilities and the national defense of our country.

Vertical Challenge will feature more than 50 helicopters including a search-and-rescue demonstration performed by the Coast Guard with its HH-65 Dolphin, extraction demonstrations from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s department, and water drops by the California Department of Forestry. There will also be a helicopter airshow, helicopter rides, refreshments, and live entertainment.

The Hiller Aviation Museum is a collection of aviation history spanning the past 30 years by Stanley Hiller. The collection includes 50 aircraft exhibits and numerous displays. The museum’s 53,000-square-foot complex consists of a main exhibit hall, an entrance atrium, 35-seat theater, 50-seat conference center, gift store, restoration shop, and kitchen facilities for catered events.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 to 17 and seniors 65 and older, and free for kids age 4 and younger. The museum is located at the San Carlos Airport, 601 Skyway Road, San Carlos, CA 94070. More information is available at the Web Site.
