If you’re confused about whether you need to replace your paper pilot certificate with a plastic one, you’re not alone. In recent months, many AOPA members have called AOPA’s Pilot Information Center requesting information. Pilots have heard discussions about plastic certificates and English proficiency endorsements, but don’t know the details, or whether the requirements apply to them. All pilots will need a plastic certificate with an English proficiency endorsement by March 31, 2010, but if you’re flying across the border, you need it now. Find out the details online in AOPA’s “ Answers for Pilots.”
As a CFI, you have the demanding, yet rewarding responsibility of developing the pilots of tomorrow. To help you recruit new students and give your current students the best possible chance at success, we encourage you to take advantage of the following resources:
Free advertising of your services. Reach prospective students by posting your name and contact information on AOPA’s Online Flight Instructor Directory.
Resources to make your job easier. A library of online resources with marketing tips, teaching aids, publications, downloadable documents and more— all online.
Free subscription to AOPA Flight Training magazine. Continue to enroll your students in AOPA’s free six-month student trial membership and we’ll continue your free subscription to AOPA Flight Training. Go online.
Web site dedicated to student pilots. To complement your training syllabus, AOPA offers a one-stop student resource to help them through each phase of their training, including free supplemental training materials, safety courses, knowledge quizzes, and more.
You’ll find your students coming to you better prepared, more informed, and asking the right questions—making better use of your time. And by helping them streamline their training and keep costs down, completion rates increase and dropout rates decrease.
