Three vintage aircraft are on display at AOPA Aviation Summit’s Airportfest. The largest of the three—and certainly the shiniest—is Joe Shepherd’s painstakingly polished 1936 Lockheed 12A Electra Junior, one of the airplanes used in the filming of the movie Amelia.
Beside the shimmering Lockheed are a blue and yellow 1941 Waco UPF-7 biplane and a bright yellow 1940s-vintage Boeing N2S-3. Both of these biplanes were used to train pilots during World War II.
