AOPA Air Safety Foundation holiday cards now available

Santa's Preflight Check
CAVU Christmas
Final Approach on Christmas Day

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation recently unveiled its 2005 aviation-themed holiday cards. With 29 designs from which to choose, there is something for everyone.

This year, for the first time, a Chanukah card is among the options. The designs are divided into four categories: holiday plane, holiday scene, Santa, and Chanukah. Some cards feature gold or silver embossing and foil edging.

The 2005 holiday cards include the following designs:

  • Santa's Preflight Check, which depicts Santa preflighting his biplane, "Spirit of St. Nick";
  • CAVU Christmas, a peaceful scene of a biplane parked on the snow-covered front lawn of a farmhouse on a clear winter's night; and
  • Final Approach on Christmas Day, which has a gold foil-embossed border and depicts a Cessna on final approach to a rural airport amidst the snow-covered landscape.

Each person who orders three or more boxes of cards may have a personal message imprinted inside the card at no cost. Each box of 25 cards and envelopes also includes 25 free return-address labels and decorative holiday seals.

The cards range from $23 to $27 per box. A portion of the proceeds from each box of cards sold helps to fund the AOPA Online Safety Center, safety seminars, and other programs throughout the year.

Orders may be placed online or by telephone, 800/308-4285.

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation, the world's largest nonprofit GA safety organization, was founded in 1950 solely to help general aviation pilots improve flight safety. Since that time, the GA total accident rate has dropped by more than 90 percent despite a large increase in GA flight hours. ASF produces live seminars, online interactive courses, videotapes, written Safety Advisors and other aviation safety materials for free distribution to all GA pilots.
