AOPA on hand for Sun 'n Fun kick-off

Apr. 13, 2004 - The Sun 'n Fun Fly-In and Air Show is under way in Lakeland, Fla., and AOPA is there in a bigger way than ever before. We've pitched our big yellow tent not far from the Gifts of Flight shop. And the grand prize in this year's Win-A-Twin Sweepstakes - a better-than-new 1965 Piper Twin Comanche - is parked right outside, fresh from the paint shop at KD Aviation.
This coming Friday is AOPA Day at Sun 'n Fun - a day to honor our 400,000+ members. On AOPA Day, members will receive $5 off general admission and get free prizes and take part in special drawings at the AOPA tent. And it all kicks off the evening before, Thursday, April 15, when AOPA President Phil Boyer hosts a Pilot Town Meeting at the Florida Air Museum.
