China issues aviation stamps

chinese stampsThe People’s Republic of China has issued a series of postage stamps that spotlight general aviation and feature Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond, and Flight Design CTLS aircraft. The stamps promote the China International General Aviation Convention. The CTLS light sport aircraft is also featured on a postcard.

“We are very honored to be included with these famous brands as China opens its doors to general aviation,” said Matthias Betsch, CEO of Flight Design. “We have invested time and travel to bring our new CTLS to China. These postage stamps and postcards represent mounting evidence that we are succeeding.”

Until recently, aviation in China consisted primarily of commercial and military operations. That has begun to change, according to Flight Design, which noted that Cessna is building its 162 SkyCatcher in China and a company in Shanghai is developing the all-electric Yuneec light sport aircraft.
