Montel Williams promotes healthy living at Summit

Talk show host Montel Williams has long been an aviation enthusiast, but his vision prevented him from becoming a pilot while at the U.S. Naval Academy. His passion for aviation is one of the reasons Williams will take part in AOPA Aviation Summit, Nov. 5 through 7 in Tampa, Fla.

The other is to promote healthy living—something that is important to pilots who must make regular visits to the aviation medical examiner in order to keep their medical certificate. Williams, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999, has been able to lessen the daily symptoms thanks to a healthy diet and lifestyle.

While promoting a healthful lifestyle, Williams will take part in Summit’s Health Pavilion, where he will sign copies of his latest books, Living Well and Living Well Emotionally, on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6. The Health Pavilion will be a dedicated area in the Tampa Convention Center Exhibit Hall where pilots can receive health checks and information.

In addition, Williams will appear Nov. 5 and 6 at AOPA Live at Center Stage, in the middle of exhibit hall. He will also speak on Thursday in the Women’s Wing at the AOPA Aviation Summit. His topic will be, “Eat Well, Fly Well.”

Williams is currently the host of a daily nationally syndicated radio show, MONTEL ACROSS AMERICA. He recently completed his seventeenth season as host of the award-winning syndicated television talk show, The Montel Williams Show. He is also an actor, television and film producer, successful businessman, and retired U.S. Navy officer.
