The Helicopter Association International (HAI) announced that the 2010 Salute to Excellence Awards call for nominations deadline has been extended to Nov. 12, 2009. HAI members and nonmembers will now have more time to submit nominations and signed acknowledgement forms for one or more of the nine awards.
For nearly 50 years, HAI has celebrated the outstanding achievements and exceptional merits of individuals and organizations through the Salute to Excellence awards program. Winners of the 2010 series will be recognized at the Salute to Excellence banquet, to be held on Monday, Feb. 22, during HELI-Expo 2010 in Houston, Texas.
HAI will present nine awards recognizing contributions made to advance the international helicopter community. By acknowledging exceptional individuals or organizations, the Salute to Excellence program encourages continued achievement in attaining the highest standards of professionalism in the helicopter industry.
HAI requires all nominees to acknowledge in writing that they are aware of their nomination and, if selected, that they would be willing to share biographical information and photos with HAI, as well as accept the award in person at the banquet. If the recipient is unable to attend the banquet, he or she must designate a person to accept the award on their behalf.
HAI is a professional trade association representing 2,800-plus members, in 74 nations, who operate more than 5,000 helicopters approximately 2.3 million hours each year. HAI is dedicated to the promotion of the helicopter as a safe, effective method of commerce, and to the advancement of the international helicopter community.
The simplest way to submit a nomination is to complete an online 2010 nomination form on HAI’s Web site. The 2010 call for nominations brochure and form can be downloaded and mailed to Helicopter Association International,1635 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314-2818, or faxed to 703/683-4745.
