Step in to the world of WAAS

The Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) is bringing satellite-based instrument approaches with ILS-like minimums to airports nationwide. More than 1,300 WAAS LPV approaches (localizer performance with vertical navigation) are up and running at more than 800 airports nationwide. And the number keeps growing.

Add to that the number of nonprecision GPS approaches, and you’ve got access to more U.S. airports than possible solely with ground-based navigation.

Learn practical tips for flying GPS and WAAS approaches from 2008 National CFI of the Year Max Trescott. Trescott will host the popular seminar during AOPA Aviation Summit, taking place Nov. 5 through 7, in Tampa, Fla.

Then delve deeper into GPS operations with the AOPA Air Safety Foundation’s safety seminar, “GPS From the Ground Up,” which covers the fundamentals of GPS; route planning; databases, charts, and equipment; programming and taxiing; en route issues; instrument approaches; and more.

These seminars, along with dozens more, will help you hone your flying skills during your stay at AOPA Aviation Summit. Don’t wait—sign up today and take advantage of advance registration discounts available only through Oct. 14.
