SKY Helicopters, lnc., a commercial helicopter operator and provider of high-definition newsgathering services based in Garland, Texas, has been named the forty-first fastest-growing privately held company in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area by lnc Magazine.
The fast-growing companies, based on revenue growth, are recognized in the annual ranking of the “Inc 5000,” published in the September 2009 issue. SKY Helicopters is the only helicopter company to be ranked in the nationwide list of emerging companies.
Founded in 1992, SKY experienced overall sales growth of 280 percent between 2005 and 2008. For consideration in the “lnc 5000,” companies must be independent and privately held through 2008, and have at least $200,000 in sales in the base year, 2005, and 2008 sales must have exceeded $2 million. SKY ranked No. 1,118 on the “Inc 5000” nationwide list of fast-growing companies in the United States.
Previously, lnc Magazine recognized SKY’s growth in 1999 and again in 2000. “We are honored to be named an ‘lnc 5000’ company among so many other groundbreaking and entrepreneurial organizations,” said Kenneth Pyatt, founder and president of SKY Helicopters. “SKY’s ‘lnc 5000’ ranking is an indication not only of our continued growth, but also of the demand for cost-effective high-definition newsgathering helicopters and services in the United States.”
SKY Helicopters operates the Garland/DFW Heliport, the largest public heliport in Texas. The heliport, located on the northeast edge of Dallas, serves local and transient helicopter traffic. Heliport customers include medical, news gathering, energy, telecommunication, and private helicopter operators.
