Avidyne Corporation’s upgraded multifunction display, the EX600, recently received FAA certification and an approved model list supplemental type certificate covering certification in more than 650 aircraft types.
The EX600 is an upgraded version of the company’s popular EX500, what it says was the first of its kind on the aviation market when it was introduced. The EX600 builds on that initial success with improved functionality and an improved display. The display increases 0.3 of an inch to 5.8 inches diagonal, and the resolution increases to 640 x 480 pixels.
New or improved functions include a better map panning key, a better quick panning feature, and a wider option of radar interfaces. As with the EX500, the EX600 offers CMax, Avidyne’s approach chart and airport diagram interface, at no charge.
Prices for the new display start at $9,990. Owners of the EX500 can upgrade to the EX600 starting at $5,495. Shipments have already begun, Avidyne said.
