Tecnam shifts parts, prepares to deliver twin

Tecnam North America has assumed responsibility for the sales and distribution of Tecnam parts in North America. By working with Tecnam North America, customers can ensure that the proper part is being ordered and get answers to any technical questions, said the Ashland, Va.-based company.

Ocean Air Flight Services, a flight school at California’s Watsonville Municipal Airport, said that it will take delivery of the first twin-engine Tecnam P2006T in the United States after AOPA Aviation Summit. Ocean Air plans to use the new airplane as a multiengine trainer.

The Rotax 912S engines in the Italian-made twin have a combined fuel burn of around nine gallons an hour, providing a significant savings in fuel cost when compared to existing multiengine airplanes. The four-place P2006T cruises at just under 150 knots indicated airspeed.
