Thanks to startup customer and fractional aircraft company Avantair, Jeppesen now offers a Web-based digital chart that includes an auto-update service that eliminates the need for manually inserting new charts in your approach and departure chart binder.
The online capability means pilots can print charts on the go from any computer. The new service is called Jeppesen eChart Viewer, and includes the Jeppesen Airway Manual and enhanced IFR and VFR chart viewing and search capabilities. Photos of approaches are now available through the service.
Avantair signed a three-year contract for the new service that will be used by its 55 aircraft.
“Jeppesen eChart Viewer now provides the business aviation community with a means for operating digitally and has eliminated the need for manual updates,” said Jeppesen President and CEO Mark Van Tine. The new service helps business aviation operators transition to the use of digital flight information.
In other Jeppesen news, customers with Avidyne’s Entegra Release 9 and Entegra MFD displays who have CMax Chart subscriptions can now download a free version of their same charts subscription for use with an Apple iPad.
Customers can visit Jeppesen’s website to access and update their account.
