Signature launches flight-planning app

SignatureEarlier this year Signature Flight Support noticed a dramatic increase in its new mobile version of its website, and now offers an iPhone app for access to flight planning and service. It can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes store.

The new app called iFBO includes a fuel calculator, a Signature locations database, and a “Favorites” section. The fuel calculator allows the user to calculate the fuel and handling costs at a particular location, for a specific aircraft make, model, and fuel uplift, for both avgas and Jet A. The locations database provides customers with detailed FBO information including amenities, services offered, airport map, and local points of interest. The “Favorites” function allows the user to mark any location and add it to the favorites list for easy access.

“Our customer-centric approach to service includes developing new information and communication methods for our customers,” said David Best, chief commercial officer. “Our customers are constantly on the move and the iFBO iPhone application allows us to provide our customers with all the information they need regarding Signature’s global network of FBOs, no matter where they are. We believe that our customers will continue to move towards mobile applications as their source of aviation planning information and we’re committed to advancing our technology to support this trend.”
