More than 200 pilots enthusiastically joined the conversation on the big issues facing general aviation when AOPA President Craig Fuller visited Houston, Texas, for a pilot town meeting on Oct. 13.
The industry-wide efforts to develop a replacement fuel for 100LL avgas; resisting aviation user fees; and how pilots can get out the good word about GA all came in for lively discussion at the event at West Houston Airport, the bustling privately owned, public-use facility that is home base to more than 300 aircraft, and sees activity of about 120,000 annual operations.
“Houston pilots were excited to welcome Craig Fuller to our community,” said host Woody Lesikar, owner and manager of West Houston Airport Corp. “It’s a tribute to his leadership and AOPA’s dedication. Everyone in aviation knows that AOPA is always there for us.”
