The AOPA Foundation is holding an online auction to support its key initiatives of preserving and improving community airports, improving general aviation’s safety record through increased pilot education, growing the pilot population to ensure GA’s future, and educating the public on the benefits of GA. Items include a day of aerobatic flight training with Sean D. Tucker, a VIP experience with Mike Goulian at the Rhode Island ANG Air Show, a ride in the Goodyear Blimp, a made-to-order Waco YMF-5D, and much more.
Through the generosity of the aviation community, each item available for auction has been donated to the AOPA Foundation for this event. Bidding has already begun, and will continue aboard the RMS Queen Mary during the Night for Flight benefit Nov. 13.
"The AOPA Foundation thanks the goodwill of the aviation community for these auction items," said AOPA Foundation President Bruce Landsberg. "The bidding on these items should be exciting for everyone, while supporting a good cause."
All proceeds of the auction will go to the AOPA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation.
On the final night of the event, aboard the historic RMS Queen Mary, guests will have dinner providedto them by internationally recognized chef Larry Banares and entertainment by world-renowned jazz guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli.
Tickets for the Night for Flight benefit are available online until Oct. 29 and on-site at Summit registration. AOPA has posted a list of items available for bidding online. Check back frequently, as new items are being added each day.
Winners of each item will be notified shortly after the event. —Mitch Mitchell
