New Emivest owner moving assets to Utah

Emivest

Emivest headquarters building in San Antonio, Texas

Both the Martinsburg, W.Va., and San Antonio headquarters of the former Emivest Aerospace, manufacturer of the SJ30 (Swearingen) business jet, will be closed, according to a Northbrook, Ill., real estate firm that is handling the transfer of the properties. The new owner, Metalcraft Technologies, will move the assets to its headquarters in Cedar City, Utah.

Both the San Antonio factory and the Martinsburg property are under leasing agreements. The city of San Antonio owns the building and land once occupied by Emivest at the San Antonio International Airport. The lease is $100,000 per year, and includes the 127,407-square-foot facility once used for Boeing 707 aircraft prior to Swearingen and later Emivest occupying the building.

The Martinsburg, W. Va., plant and land are owned by Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport, and can be leased for $10,000 a year. The contact at Hilco Real Estate is Geoffrey Schnipper. Persons wishing to view the properties online must first create an account on the Hilco Real Estate website.

A bid deadline of June 16 has been set for both properties. Prospective buyers may submit bids on one or both of the assets.
