Mid-Continent Instruments breaks ground, expands workforce

Expansion of Mid-Continent Instruments True Blue Power line of power products comes with a bigger facility and a plan to add 24 employees over the next five years.

True Blue Power is a division of Mid-Continent Instruments that produces general aviation aircraft inverters and emergency power supplies. The products are named for their blue casing.

The company broke ground July 7 on a 6,200-square-foot addition to its Wichita, Kan., headquarters. The addition, along with new machinery and equipment, cost $2.7 million. True Blue Power’s growth would create mechanical, electrical, and certification engineering positions and bench technicians, the company said.

“This is a great day for Mid-Continent Instruments, the City of Wichita and the State of Kansas,” said Mid-Continent Instruments President and CEO Todd Winter. “We feel good about America. We feel good about aviation and we are all willing to work very hard to complete our vision of success.”
