Learn, connect with AOPA at Sun 'n Fun

Sun n Fun

Going to the Sun ‘n Fun Expo and International Fly-in in Lakeland, Fla., March 29 through April 3? Don’t miss out on the educational seminars, events, prizes, and new products AOPA has to offer.

The association is once again the platinum-level sponsor of Sun ‘n Fun. Attendees can stop by the tent to get a look at the Crossover Classic 2011 Sweepstakes Cessna 182, meet AOPA staff, watch seminars and interviews, get their flight training questions answered at the AOPA Learn to Fly Center, and find out how they can “Rally GA” in 2011.

AOPA President Craig Fuller and special guest Michael Combs, president of The Flight for the Human Spirit, will give a special presentation on how pilots can rally GA at the AOPA Live stage March 31 at 11 a.m. And stick around for the filming of other AOPA Live presentations and interviews: AOPA Live will be broadcasting March 31 through April 2.

Find out how pilots who fly every day in all kinds of weather do it in the Air Safety Institute's "Real World IFR" safety seminar March 31, and learn from other pilots’ experiences in “Close Calls: Lessons Learned” April 1, both at the FAA Production Studio. Watch even more educational seminars at the AOPA Live stage. Find further details and resources on fly-in safety at the institute’s Sun ‘n Fun Web page.

New this year is a member appreciation breakfast hosted by AOPA, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), and Sun ‘n Fun. AOPA and GAMA members can connect with other pilots for free at the breakfast, March 30 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Sun ‘n Fun Activities Tent No. 2. Remarks by both associations will be made at 8:30 a.m. AOPA members get $5 off admission on AOPA Day, April 1. Stop by the tent that day to enter for a chance to win a Bose A20 Aviation Headset.

Attendees can take the “Rally GA” challenge at the AOPA tent throughout the fly-in and enter to win prizes. While they’re there, they’ll get to talk with AOPA staff, find out about exciting new products available to pilots and aviation enthusiasts, and get information on learning to fly—and of course, check out the progress on AOPA’s 2011 Crossover Classic Sweepstakes Cessna 182.
