ForeFlight offers update, weather data

ForeFlight has announced the arrival in its App Store of ForeFlight Mobile 4.2, for immediate download.

The release revamps ForeFlight’s mapping engine “with TFR overlays, a new downloadable World Map, extra zoom levels, and interactive Airmets, Sigmets, and Pireps.”

ForeFlight also announced the availability of in-flight weather support via XM. By connecting an iPad to a Baron Mobile Link with a supported XM receiver, a pilot can get in-flight weather streaming into ForeFlight Mobile, including radar, satellite, METARs and TAFs, winds aloft, and more information during flight.

ForeFlight Mobile 4.2 is a free update for current subscribers. ForeFlight recommended that all users update because the release also includes “important bug fixes.”
