Spokane pilots’ group offers scholarships

The Spokane chapter of the Washington Pilots Association is offering flight training and aviation education scholarships for 2012. The group will award several scholarships for $1,000 each.

Funds may be used to pursue an FAA certificate, to become aircraft or avionics technicians, or to pay college expenses toward a degree in an aerospace-related program. Eligible applicants must be residents of the Northwest's Inland Empire. If applying for a flight training scholarship under 14 CFR Part 61, applicants must have completed the appropriate knowledge test for the certificate or rating they are pursuing.

The application deadline is Dec. 15, and recipients will be notified in January 2012. For a complete list of eligibility requirements and a scholarship application, see the website.
