AOPA’s Aircraft Financing Program, with financing provided by Bank of America, is a great choice for your next aircraft purchase, refinance, or upgrade.
When you decide to buy an airplane, you are faced with many decisions, but AOPA has made one decision easy for you. Trust the AOPA Aircraft Financing Program, where Bank of America has been the sole provider of financing of AOPA members for more than 15 years.
The bank’s aircraft loan specialists understand how important this aircraft purchase is to you. They handle thousands of aircraft applications each year, giving them the expertise to guide you through the process from start to finish. They have experience with all types of aircraft and will ensure your specific paperwork is flawless. There is no comparison between these aircraft specialists and a local banker who may only see one or two aircraft applications a year.
Bank of America prides itself on timeliness and responsiveness. When you work with Bank of America, you can expect a quick decision; new, lower fixed rates and closing fees; terms from five to 20 years; and no penalty for early repayment. You also have an option to pay the loan automatically from your bank account. In addition, your AOPA dues are paid by Bank of America, which means a savings of $225 to $900, depending on the term of your loan.
Count on Bank of America to supply answers to your questions about aircraft financing. Call a loan specialist at 800-62-PLANE or visit the website for important information about the loan process, required financial information, and an interactive loan calculator. If you prefer, email your questions and we’ll call or email you the answers; it’s your choice.

The Bahamas took a beating last summer from Hurricane Irene—said to be the worst storm to hit the islands since the Nassau Hurricane of 1926—and while some airports sustained flooding and damage, most were restored to service within a couple of days. The island airports provided a valuable service to Bahamian residents, as government officials flew to Cat Island, Acklins, Inagua, and Long Island to assess the local damage. General aviation played a vital role in bringing food, water, and supplies to many who suffered devastation (see “Rally GA: Flight for Survival”). While all airports should be fully restored by now, you should check on the condition of the community, lodges, and beaches at your destination. In addition, read up on the requirements for a general aviation flight from the United States to the Bahamas in this month's Answers for Pilots. And call AOPA with questions Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, 800-USA-AOPA (872-2672).
