Zululog adds Android service

Zululog.com, which offers a free online logbook, announced recently it has released an accompanying Android application.

The application, which is also free, allows users to track information on their phone or Android tablet. Although the application is meant to be used in connection with a Zululog.com account, it can be used independently. If connected to the Web, the application will automatically sync with the Zululog.com account, or wait to connect and update later if out of range during use.

Users can track things such as PIC currency, instrument currency, and all the normal logbook parameters. If a user creates custom fields in the online logbook, those fields are also imported to the application.

Also included is a counter feature that keeps track of flight conditions in real time, and then imports that information into the logbook with a single click. There are other ancillary features, including “flashlights” and regulation references.

The company expects to make iPad and iPhone applications available later this year.
