The Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system will be offered as a retrofit display option for Pro Line 21-equipped King Air aircraft through Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support. It is expected to be certified in 2013.
The Pro Line Fusion retrofit for King Air is claimed to be the industry’s first touch-control flight displays that enable gesture-based flight management to keep the pilot’s head up and eyes forward for greater situational awareness and safety through all phases of flight.
“This Pro Line Fusion upgrade represents an amazing technology leap in flight deck display technology for our customers,” said Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft vice president of global customer support. “In today’s world, touch-screen technology is changing how we interact with our handheld devices. Making it available to our existing fleet of aircraft further enhances the value of those aircraft and the environment they operate in.”
“Pro Line Fusion’s proven and scalable software, integrated with with advanced hardware features such as embedded display processing, are key in bringing an avionics system of this caliber to King Air aircraft,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager of business and regional systems for Rockwell Collins.
Pro Line Fusion was certified in June on the Bombardier Global 6000 long-range business aircraft. The system has been selected for 11 announced aircraft platforms across the business aviation, commercial air transport, and military market segments.
Rockwell Collins also announced the Venue system, a family of intuitive touch-screen HD monitors and cabin controls, a touch-enabled version of its Airshow Moving Map, and simultaneous audio/video on-demand capability.
“Venue has the most flexible backbone of any cabin system, scalable from light jets to BBJs,” said Dave Austin, vice president and general manager of cabin and electromechanical systems for Rockwell Collins. “These new features, along with an extensive list of third party product integrations, make it easy to understand why Venue is the most popular HD cabin system in the market.”
Rockwell Collins’ new Ascend Aircraft Information Manager, which gives operators of aircraft equipped with Pro Line 4 or Pro Line 21 the ability to securely, automatically, and wirelessly transfer data to and from their aircraft, was recently installed by StandardAero and certified for the first time on a Dassault Falcon 50EX.
