Soaring without wings

While guests dined and bid to support general aviation at the AOPA Foundation’s A Night for Flight fundraising banquet Sept. 22, acrobatic performers with AiRealistic kept the crowd in rapt awe at the magical feats of human motion and interpretation. The story of man’s love of flight evolved over the course of the evening as bodies flew through the air in an amazing choreography of motion and sound.

AiRealistic featured five performers, including a nine-year-old girl who dangled, twirled, and flipped from strips of cloth draped from the ceiling. A trapeze artist also performed, contorting his body in ways unimaginable.

The group’s creative team has performed with Cirque du Soleil, Dragone, De La Guarda, and the Metropolitan Opera.
