As the convective season is upon us, the Air Safety Institute is rolling out Storm Week, June 11 through June 15. Each day during Storm Week, you can learn how to improve your ability to read the weather, understand how ATC and weather briefers can aid you, and when to say “no” to a flight. As always, ASI will be your coach and mentor while reminding you of the vast arsenal of critical convective weather know-how materials—including weather courses, quizzes, and publications made available by the institute. Just look at ASI’s Thunderstorm Awareness Safety Spotlight to get an idea.
In addition, ASI will roll out a new thunderstorm weather webcast with renowned subject experts and panelists, and several other new related products such as a quiz, Ask ATC video, and pilot safety announcement.
So how can you mitigate risks, overcome faulty reasoning, and use good judgment when it comes to a weather-related go/no-go decision? Tap into ASI’s Storm Week and apply what you learn.
