Members of the International Comanche Society flew their distinctive single- and twin-engine aircraft into Maryland’s Frederick Municipal Airport on May 26, where they visited AOPA’s headquarters, celebrated general aviation, and discussed safety and proficiency.
Paul Deres, director of education for the Air Safety Institute, provided a tour of AOPA’s offices and discussed the safety institute’s online safety courses, educational programs, and the Pinch Hitter Program. The International Comanche Society offers a Pilot Companion program that will be presented at the type society’s convention Sept. 12 to 16 in Baltimore, Md., he said.
“The meeting was a good reminder that staying in touch at the grassroots level works to share expertise and promote the building of a stronger GA community,” Deres said.
