Decommissioning proposed for ILS at Casper, Wyo., airport

The FAA has proposed to decommission the locator outer marker serving the Casper ILS to Runway 8 at Casper Natrona County Airport in Casper, Wyo.

Members are encouraged to submit comments to the FAA on the impact of this proposal on their flight operations as provided below. The instrument approach was identified for decommissioning, the FAA said, because “efforts so far have been unsuccessful in finding a feasible solution to maintain the ILS without the LOM to identify the final approach fix. Runway 08 is serviced by an RNAV GPS approach providing similar minimums to the ILS and is not part of this study.”

Pilots may submit comments to the FAA on the decommissioning proposal by April 17 in writing. See the notice for details on filing comments.

Please also share your comments with AOPA.
