Florida Tech announces new Ph.D. in aviation sciences

A new program offering a Ph.D. in Aviation Sciences will be launched in the fall of 2013 at the Florida Institute of Technology College of Aeronautics in Melbourne.

The program’s areas of specialization include aviation human factors, aviation safety, airport development and management, education and training, organizational development, operations research, environmental/sustainability, and meteorology.

The curriculum includes a minimum of 51 semester credit hours with three main components: an 18-hour core study program of research design, statistics, and aviation courses; a 12-hour program within areas of aviation specialization chosen by the student; and at least 21 credit hours of dissertation research in the area of specialization.
