All Nippon Airways acquires Pan Am International Flight Academy

ANA Holdings, the parent company of All Nippon Airways, has acquired Pan Am International Flight Academy, an airline training provider based in Miami, Fla. The acquisition was announced Aug. 22.

ANA plans to expand Pan Am into Asia by providing training to other Asian airlines, partner firms, and subsidiaries, the company said. “With air travel expected to double within the next 30 years, and much of the growth occurring in Asia, the company is poised to capture opportunities and create an additional source of steady revenue for the airline,” Pan Am said in a news release.

Pan Am provides pilot, air traffic control, aircraft dispatcher, maintenance, and flight attendant training at locations in Denver; Fort Lauderdale, Kissimmee, Merritt Island, and Miami, Fla.; Memphis, Tenn.; Minneapolis; Las Vegas; Europe; and Tokyo.

The company recently announced that with the acquisition of the former Airline Career Academy, it has returned to ab initio training for both FAA and JAA certificates. Additional information on training programs can be found on its website.
