I’m enrolled in a Part 141 associate’s degree program at the Community College of Allegheny County and Pittsburgh Flight Training Center. I finally was able to solo!
I’m realizing a dream that I’ve had since I was 20 in the U.S. Air Force. If I might share one piece of advice it would be this: If you are on the Flight Training Facebook page, perusing because you want to fly, but are unsure about being able to do it...do it! You’ll have a lot more years to enjoy flying than I will because I put it off for 27 years. Find out what works best for you—Part 61, Part 141, instrument, commercial, multiengine and beyond. The sky’s the limit! One thing I can look forward to, since I am working toward a commercial license as well as CFI and CFII, is teaching my now 4-year-old daughter to fly. She loves airplanes and helicopters now, and it can only grow stronger, as long as I am flying. I am excited about that.
