Aircraft Spruce will allow customers to pre-order merchandise and pick it up during EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., between July 29 and Aug. 4.
The company listened to customers’ requests by offering this service, said Aircraft Spruce Marketing Manager Desiree Czaplinski. “We have a lot of international and domestic customers. I noticed that we would get a few requests from our customers prior to the show asking us if we could bring something specific for them,” she said. “Of course, the answer was always yes. I decided that a great way to be sure that we have everything in our booth that every customer would want or need, would be by letting them pre-order with us.”
Aircraft Spruce, an AOPA strategic partner, started marketing the service during last year’s EAA AirVenture, then expanded it for this year’s Sun 'n Fun, said Czaplinski. “The results have been phenomenal and our customers have expressed such gratitude to us for offering this service to them that I decided to really promote this service to its full potential for this Oshkosh."
The company carries more than 80,000 parts, so it is impossible to bring everything to the show, said Czaplinski. “Customers have been pre-ordering avionic units that have specific databases, certain sized hardware, specific instruments, engine parts, etc. They really take advantage of this service and we are proud that we can offer the service to them,” she said. “The exclusions to this service are really minimal, including oversized orders, orders that contain five-gallon containers, cases of oil, and packages measuring more than 84 inches length and girth or 60 inches long or exceed 25 pounds total weight.”
Orders must be placed by noon Eastern time on July 23 to make the EAA AirVenture truck, she added.
“When placing an order online, choose 'store/airshow pickup' at the shopping cart and complete checkout. It's that easy and guarantees we bring the products you really need,” said Czaplinski. “Then just show up at the booth, give us your order receipt, and we'll give you the order.” Orders can be picked up at Aircraft Spruce’s Hangar A booths No. 1022-1029.
Aircraft Spruce also brings a lot of its regular inventory to EAA AirVenture, said Czaplinski. “Each year a complete analysis takes place where we review what we brought to the show the previous year, what we sold, and also what new products have been added to our inventory since the previous show,” she said. “It is a process, but it ensures that we bring what the majority of the show attendees would like to purchase.”
The company has its booth in Hangar A and at a secondary location in Hangar D at booths No. 4113-4114. “We maximize every inch of the area that we have in our locations with inventory that represents Aircraft Spruce’s 'Everything for Planes and Pilots,’” said Czaplinski. “We always bring the staple items including headsets, GPS systems, spark plugs, filters, books, training supplies, iPad accessories, fire extinguishers, oil, tires, and batteries.”
