For the seventh year in a row, women attending EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, can participate in a slate of events focused on excitement and career possibilities within the aviation community. This year’s WomenVenture will be held on Wednesday, July 30. Women in Aviation, International, The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, and the Experimental Aircraft Association partner to sponsor the event.
The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with Women in Aviation, International’s annual Connect Breakfast at the EAA Nature Center. If purchased before July 23, tickets are $15 and may be ordered online or by calling 937/839-4647. After July 23, tickets may be purchased at the WAI booth (#2014) in Hangar B for $20.
WomenVenture participants will don brightly colored shirts and assemble at Boeing Plaza at 11 a.m. for the annual group photo. “We fill Show Center with hundreds of women, all dressed in their WomenVenture T-shirts, for a family photo,” said WAI President Peggy Chabrian. “This photo is more than a fun event—it increases the visibility of women throughout the aviation community.”
Following the photo, the WomenVenture Power Lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Theater in the Woods. The guest speaker is Debbie Travis King, who flies a B-29 and a B-24 for the Commemorative Air Force. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased on site or online.
WomenVenture registration begins July 28 at the EAA Welcome center. Female pilots (including student pilots) can sign the logbook and get a free T-shirt for the July 30 photo. The logbook and T-shirts will also be available at the Connect Breakfast.
